This is a wonderful idea my mom told me about years ago. Some rental places don't want holes in the walls/woodwork, so having this alternative is a great way to still hang curtains. I would not hang heavy drapes, as the piece connecting the hooks to the corner piece does not look like it would take the weight. But lighter curtains should do well. For light weight only
This is a great idea, but with so many sizes of trims it won't fit all. I used it to avoid putting holes in a wooden valance. Unfortunately, it was a different thickness, so I had to straighten the bend to make it fit and put a screw in the top hole. I used the brackets for light weight valance so it was okay. These were a little difficult to get on the windows and the part that actually holds the curtain rod turned and moved around and it took two people to get the rod in place. Also, we had to use a hammer to keep the thing in place. After we got the rod up, it looks great. Just a little tricky. These are hard to use. There is a point on the back that has to be hammered behind the door or window frame. It's hard to get them to stay on. Didn't work for me
I was looking forward to an easy curtain hanging for a high window and was unable to get the holders to fit on the window edges. They slip over the top corner of your window molding– no nails, no screws, no drilling, that's what the ad says, but they wouldn't stay there. The big problem with this product is keeping it to stay in place around the edge of the window. It needs a better way of holding it in placed to keep it from coming out while you are hanging the curtains, and don`t mess with the curtains much or it comes loose. - old man, Michigan
Good idea, bad design
Great idea, but basically they don't work due to poor design. The curtain rods constantly fell down because of: 1) Why on earth would you make a bracket that is supposed to hold something in place swivel is a bad design/engineering concept. This alone is the number one reason not to but this. 2) The connection to the curtain rod (the hook that fits in the hole of the curtain rod) is too small and poorly designed - it doesn't grip and hold the curtain rod. 3) the bracket does not just fit on the corner of the window frame - it has a thick 'tooth; on the top and the side that has to be hammered far into the frame. This has to be done from the top and the side making it tricky, else it just sticks out from the frame. Overall: You end by doing more invasive damage to the frame than you would have if you just installed the traditional screw-in brackets. And it is not near as sturdy. Even if I could have fit it on, it seems that the curtain rod would be attached to the front of the holder, not off to the side so that the curtain would not cover the entire trim. I'm very sorry that I purchased these. I wish I had known in advance how poorly these were designed. The hooks that the curtain rods fit into rotate so that the curtain rods fall off of the hooks. The product does not fit over the wood trim not even if you use a hammer to tap them into place they constantly fall off of the roof trim.
