Puzzled about this item

We love the concept of having our initials on lighted porch caps, however, this particular item doesn't seem to be "solar" as much as constant on. Not the quaity I expected

Purchased 4 lamps, 2 "p" and 2 "d". Within a couple of weeks both "p" lamps had to be replaced. Now 1 of the "d" lamps does not work. I swapped batteries with another lamp, and it still wont charge. Service to replace the "p" lamps was excellent, but it is just a pain to have to call and request a replacement so soon after purchasing. - Pat, Florida
